Our client, located in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula, supplies Agricultural row crop and horticultural crop inputs and services to growers within a 100 km radius. Through four generations of entrepreneurs, they have developed a financially solid and profitable establishment which farmer-growers can depend on. With their stable work force of talented and dedicated employees, they are known for their excellent customer service and through this have attained a large and loyal customer base.

As General Manager, you will provide leadership for this business unit. Your staff of 20 includes a strong operations team and seasoned sales staff.

General Manager - AgriBusiness
Niagara, Ontario

In this role you will:

Report to the VP
Continue to foster an achievement-based culture where employees are motivated and rewarded for both individual and team contributions
Responsible for all P+L, credit policies
Create, streamline, maintain and evolve reporting systems for ongoing operational strategy including trends, costing, purchasing and variances from budget and/or the business plan
Ensure all safety, environment and regulatory programs comply with all legal and safety standards
History shows there will be growth opportunities

To properly fill this role your background will show:

Strong managerial skills with a proven consistent approach to working with others
Understanding of local Ag markets; including row crops, horticulture, greenhouse or vineyards
Must have dealt with farmer-growers as a customer base in sales or services
Excellent comprehension of financial management and credit policies
Ability to inspire and motivate team members as well as the patience and assertiveness in challenging business situations
Ability to change gears quickly, strong internal integrity and honesty, ability to prioritize tasks with the “big picture” in mind, effective communication skills
Intermediate to strong computer literacy, high comfort level with learning new computer programs
A life long learner, a degree or diploma is a definite asset

This dynamic company is searching for an agricultural market analyst who will fill an essential role in interpreting and communicating commodity analysis for their subscription base. This role is at the heart of the business by providing customers the clear, accurate suggestions that drive their business decisions.

Market Commodities Analyst
London, Ontario

In this highly interactive role you will:
- Research Canadian and world markets
- Help farmers sell their crops and manage their price risk
- Supply agricultural commodity market commentaries to an array of buyers of our services and play a major role in developing new demand and subscriptions for the newsletters and advisories we produce
- Master your skills in statistical analysis and agricultural commodity markets
- Provide crucial information to a large client base of farmers
- Exercise your love for public speaking
- This is also an opportunity to develop your own related projects, based on your personal interests and the bottom line results you can generate
Requirements:

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in two or more of the following:
- Market research or analysis
- Commodity futures research/analysis
- Futures trading
- Agricultural risk management
- Agricultural market decision making
- Cash grain trading
- Western Canada grain, oilseed or specialty crop marketing
- US farm market advisory services
Proven track record involving:
- Synthesizing complex information and forming clear, concise conclusions
- Ability to communicate complex situations, graphs and charts or commodity market analysis to a broad user base
- Exceptional writing skills (applicants will be tested)
University degree:
- MSc or MBA in Ag Economics, Mathematics or related degree minimum
  
  The location for this position is London, Ontario Canada. Candidates wishing to work and live in other locations in Canada or the US may be considered. However, periodic travel to the London office will be required.
